The Blue Jackets have suspended forward Gregory Hofmann, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. #CBJ
Kekalainen: "Gregory was given permission by the club to step away for personal reasons and informed us today that because of those reasons he has decided not to return. Obviously, we are disappointed, but we have no other recourse than to suspend him." #CBJ
[doublepost=1641866161,1641865637][/doublepost]His agent, Claude Lemieux, said it is “likely” that the Blue Jackets and Hofmann agree on a contract termination so he can sign a new deal in Switzerland.
More from Lemiuex: “For family reasons, Gregory has decided to not come back to the NHL and the Jackets. As you know, he went home for the birth of their child and has decided to stay in Switzerland.”
Thankfully, his decision is not health-related, so himself, his newborn, and the rest of his family appear to be in good health.
If this does end up in a contract termination, best of luck to Gregory back home in the presence of his family and in the rest of his hockey career.
